The ghost, the White House and me

Written by: Judith St. George

This book is about two young girls that move into the White House when their mom gets elected president. They don't like it because they always have a bodyguard following them around and the place is always so crowded but they do like chef Tony's food. Then, Borden, the son the the precedent president of the United States, tells Annie and her sister that he already slept in Abraham Lincoln's bedroom and that he was visited by his ghost that night. After, they want to sleep in it too to see if they would get visited by the Lincoln ghost, so, knowing that their mom would say no, they ask their dad, which tells them to ask their mom who says no. At dinner, later that day, their mom asks their uncle Matt if he would like to sleep in the Lincoln bedroom and he says yes. The girls are so mad that he could when they couldn't that they try to sabotage it. To do that, they try to create a ghost to scare Matt out of the bedroom. It is not easy to do considering that both their bodyguards keep an eye on them and their babysitter at home. Will they be able to pull it off without getting caught???

I think the message of the story is not to handle problems or bad situations of the wrong way. I think it is the message because after Matt accepted to sleep in the bedroom, instead of going to him and the president to explain how they felt, they acted out of jealousy, rage and vengeance.

I can connect to the story because when I went ti Switzerland, I skied in a competition and I was the only one in my group to make it in the right timing on my third day. There was someone else in my group that had been trying for weeks to win it and was jealous so he tried to make me trip and fall down all day and every time, he ended up falling when I avoided his traps. I can also connect to this book because every time my brother dose me a bad joke, I try to get my revenge even if most of the time, he doesn't notice it or I end up trapping myself.

In the book, I've noticed that Annie and her sister never get in trouble because they wanted to hurt someone but because they wanted to help someone or simply reacting of the wrong way in a bad situation. I think they also get in trouble because they want attention from their mom since she is never there, they don't like living in the White House and honestly, I can understand where they're coming from. I have also noticed that they handle things on their own because, as I said earlier, their mom is never there for them and when she is, she is stressed and distracted.

Diary of a wimpy kid #3

Author: Jeff Kinney

The book is about a young boy named Greg that has a big brother that has a band called loaded diaper and a little brother that gets everything he wishes 100% of the time. Greg is also always in trouble and usually gets his best friend in trouble too, because, even dough he doesn't want any part of it, he still does it forced by his friend Greg. Then, he tries to clean up his mess and gets into another one instead and even if he does clean it up without doing another one in process, he just does one once he done cleaning the last one.

I think the message of the book is loyalty because in the book, Greg best friend, even dough he's always in trouble because of him, he stays loyal and always ends up forgiving him.

I've noticed that even if it isn't the most joyous book the author found adjectives that ad a sense of humor and I think it is really the main reason why I like the book.

To conclude, it is a funny book with a great message and I loved reading it.

Diary of a wimpy kid

It is the story of a kid named Greg in high school that is not necessarily very popular and that doesn't have the best life either. Basically, it is a boy writing down what's happening in his life in a little diary. It is also a very funny book because the author found a funny way to explain what happened in his disastrous day.

I think that the author is trying to tell us that every cloud has a silver lining. I think that because even if he is always in trouble, he can always find a way out and find a positive side to it. The sentence saying the positive side usually starts by "at least..." I think that the author is also trying to show us an example of someone who is getting bullied. When Greg got bullied at school, he didn't care much, didn't change who he was , kept a seeing thinking positively and eventually, it stopped.

This book reminded me of the movie fried worms because in the movie, he was the new kid and he was bullied. He also did crazy stuff to take down the bully without quite knowing the whole story.

In the book, what didn't work is that at one point, he had a radio with him for the whole day and that the teacher didn't realize it before the afternoon.

Garfield's Pet Force

Written by: Jim Davis

The book Garfield's pet force is about a kingdom that is under attack by animals with super powers without them knowing. As soon as they discover it, they have to move fast...

I like this book because the story is really intriguing and because it is also really easy to understand. I also like it because it reminds me of my brother. It reminds me of him because he likes to come in my room and take my iPad without me knowing so when I find out I have to get it back because I need for school.

Dear Dumb Diary - School, Hasn't This Gone Enough?

Author: Jim Breton

The book Dear Dumb Diary (school, hasn't this gone enough?) is about a little girl that writes all kinds of crazy stuff in her diary. She mostly writes about the fact that she was always the little favourite with all of her teachers and one day a beautifil girl puts just a little efforts into her work and it makes her become the favourite of every teacher and makes the her go very, very, very mad....

This story reminds me of the book judy bloom because it is kind of the same story except it is not really with school but they are still very similar. The are very simlar because they both very funny and they also both have some jealousy in the story. I know it because I already read it, it made me laugh a lot and I really liked it.

I think that with this book, the author is trying to tell us that a teenage girl's life is not perfect, but it always ends up well. I think that he is also trying to tell us that in life, even if you go up really high, or fall down really low, you can always come back to a middle point.
